Toyo 45C or Cambo SCN/SC2 type monorail.
I am considering buying a monorail 4x5, the Toyo 45C is high on my list, as this is of modular design although I will also consider a cambo SC2. Who are the official UK dealers for these brands?

I that see that Robert White sell Toyo, but don`t have the 45C. They do sell the 45CX though.
I couldn`t find who stocks the Cambo range of LF cameras.

Dear Keith,
Cambos are wonderfully solid -- assistant-proof, even -- and extremely versatile, but HEAVY. The 45C strikes me as very middle-of-the-road. Have you considered a Linhof Technikardan? Unconventional as monorails go, but all movements bellows-limited and very compact when folded away.
Cheers,
R.

I haven`t looked much at Linhof`s as they tend to be quite expensive even second-hand.
Perhaps I should look further into the second-hand market for a good monorail and may be look at other brands as well.
Mr Cad seem to have quite a bit of LF gear on their site, but not many pictures of the cameras on offer.
Cheers,
Keith.

Dear Keith,
I recently saw a Technikardan at under half a grand -- dunno what sort of state it was in. Unfortunately can't find the ad again!
Also try contacting Kevin at Camerex in Exeter. Send him my regards!
Cheers,

Yes I will try Camerex, I am looking at the Mr Cad adverts in B&W magazine. There is mention of a Karden E, Karden Color 45S and a Super Color ST.
I`m not sure of the specifications of these or how old they are, although I would expect a camera like a LF monorail to be used with care and should last the proverbial lifetime.
No mention of a Technikarden though.
Thanks for replying.

Hello John,
I was surprised to see this thread which I posted early last year.
I have since bought a Sinar Norma outfit with 4x5 and 8x10 rear standards, which I am hoping to sell soon. A PM would have been a better way to contact me though in case I didn`t see your post.
Thanks for asking any way.
