    Zeiss Doppel-Amatar 13,5/6,8

I got this little lens today. A nice Carl Zeiss Doppel-Amatar 13,5/6,8 Serial number 255311, in a working Compur. No scratches, just a little dust that will be gone soon.

Any comments? Ole, are you happy with yours?

Oh, it came with a camera. An ICA Maximar 207.

Mine didn't come in a shutter, so I use it on the Speed Graphic.

And yes, I'm very happy with it! It's a great little lens, and I will never understand why Zeiss stopped making them!

Didn't you buy a 13,5 cm Amatar in Compound shutter recently? Saw that in a classified ad when I searched about the lens.

I wrote "in a working Compur". After a closer look, the speeds work fine, but the diaphragm is missing. I'm glad I have spare Compurs.

I'm fitting a Bergheil bayonet to the shutter and will try the lens soon.

I did, but it hasn't arrived yet. Or maybe it has - but I got home a few hours ago, and haven't been to the post office yet.

But I have a 150mm which I've had for a while, and I'm very happy with it. One of my best pictures was taken with that - it's in the gallery here.

Surface mail - when the mail stays at the post office, waiting for the tectonic plates to move in the right direction.

The picture you took in Italy is very nice. Sharp, yet soft in the highlights. Remember what aperture you used?

There are very little about the Amatar on the internet. I must upload pictures taken with mine some day.

Here's a first quick test shot on 6,5x9 APX 100. Aperture 12,5. Very bad scan with uneven light... But at least it shows that the Amatar is a good usable lens.
