Linhof Tech V 5x7

What would a 5x7 Linhof Tech in very good condition be worth.
I could buy one from an old photog which used it as his second camera.

One just went on eBay with two modern lenses for around $1200, which strikes me as a real bargain, but maybe that's just because there is less of a market for 5x7" than for 4x5".

It might be because those Linhof 5x7 are BEASTS. 15 pounds, maybe?

It does seem extraordinary to think of anyone using it handheld with the rangefinder, in which case you might as well get a field camera with more movements.

It's a beast all right

This is a Tech. III, and I'm not using the rangefinder, but still... Especially with a 300mm/f:4.5 Xenar on it!

Heh heh cool. You get to do some power lifting exercise and get pictures too

It only needs to be held steady for 1/50 of a second, which is the fastest shutter speed on that thing. After about 5 seconds my arms start shaking anyway...

It's not that heavy; only about 14 pounds - plus another two pounds of lens!

It was fun to have tried it, but I won't do it again. Soon, at least
