Schneider Symmar-S 210/5.6 - what filter size?
Just rec'd a second hand Schneider Symmar-S 210/5.6 (looks good). My googling has failed to establish the front filter size. I can't see it on the lens rim. Anybody know?

Older ones are 77mm, newer may be 67mm. I think the size of the front element or at least the thread area may have changed in the late 1980s.

I have a 210 APO Symmar that is a 72mm

Be very careful fitting a filter, I have a 210 Symmar lens that needs an empty filter mount as a spacer to stop the filter touching the glass.

I found a 77mm polariser in the photo treasure chest and it seems to fit fine, and doesn't snag the lens. So 77mm it is. Thanks,

Does anyone know what the thread size for the rear element is? I believe it's 52mm but I don't have a filter to check it with. Unitl now I've used a 58m and taped it but I would like to get a step up adapter. My front polarizer, 77mm, works fine without touching the front element.
Thanks,
Curt

According to my machinists caliper it's 54.2 mm in diameter (inside). The pitch doesn't look like a standard filter thread either.

I went to the shop and got my caliper out and it measures 54.45, it's probably not a standard thread as was said in the previous thread.
Thanks,
Curt
