Now I've just noticed his listing for an 800mm f10 "authentic planar", that's really an apo-planar copy lens (and probably pretty average at distance, too) for a cool AU$2300. I think I'll stick with my $70 ronar thanks.

I'd better stop now, or I'll end up listing all of his auctions.

Anastigmat, did you leave negative feedback? I ask because I cannot fathom how he always has a 100% positive rating, especially now after the feedback system has been changed to prevent bullying. As for this seller claiming to be not experienced enough to see faults, if all you sold was large format lenses, week in, week out, for years on end, do you think you'd be experienced? Slow learner, maybe.
At least some of his positive feedback can not be genuine; it must be manufactured in some way!?

The lens he offered me as compensation that was missing the flange that was pictured and confirmed by email to be included. (meaning he offered it to me at a reduced price of $150AU compared to what he had it originally listed at $264, and was according to the eBay listing, supposedly sold to someone else, on the same day as I purchased the first lens; with the significant scratches)

This lens that was listed on eBay is the exact same lens that I have in my possession. It was according to his feedback page sold to someone else and he received positive feedback for it! It seems quite impossible that he sold the lens to anybody as they would not have had time to send it back to him before it was offered to me only a couple of days after the sale. If they did why leave positive feedback, furthermore, saying how nice the lens is! Moreover weeks after it has been in my possession. Something doesn’t smell right. I also noticed the same person whom left positive feedback for the lens I have has left possitive feedback on several other lenses!

His liberal exaggerations I can pretty much put up with, coverage, convertible, remove the front or rear, comparable to the best ever other lens, yada yada yah..

What I don’t like is his descriptions, which amount to mint meaning rough as broken old houses, beautiful X number of aperture blades forming perfect circle, actually means some are bent and really forms a U shape! Complete with flange really means ,well, what are you nuts, you didn’t seriously expect that did you! And a single faint mark on the lens ,means that it was dragged behind a car on a dirt road and has several gouges in it…actually I should try that, it might smooth it up some...you gota laugh dont ya

He is probably purchasing his own lenses under a different name when nobody else bids on them, then giving himself positive feedback for the transaction.

Did millions of people suddenly disappear? This may have an answer.

    Now appearing as ... Ocean_Image.

If you go through his feedback as a buyer, you can find the 150mm heliar he has for auction now. The seller he got it from described a 3-4mm scratch, and a chip in the front group. Now it's in "like new" condition. I guess that's the kind of "like new" that Anastigmat was talking about.

And it's a damn good thing those tasty grey tones were banned after the 1970's

How about an update for 2010?
    The name has changed again!
These days, it appears to be "vintage_optics".
