    schneider helical mount

i am working on building a rigid 4x5 camera and have qcquired a 90mm grandagon f4.5 for it. the trouble is that i dount feel like making a helical mount and neither schneider or rodenstock makes a helical mount for copal 1 shutters. the fotoman helical mount will work but i dont know about the quality. any one have any ideas about either the fotoman mount or if i might be able to modify the schneider one to work? maybe someone can measure the inside diameter and depth of the cavity inside of a schneider or rodenstock focal mount if they access to one. I have access to a machine shop so i may be able to make one work. thanks for the time

Months and months ago, I bought a chinese lens board with a focusing helicoid for linhof technika cameras. I never really used it because the hole (copal #0) is centered instead of being below center. If you are interested, send me a PM and I'll send you a few pictures plus the dimensions of that device. Maybe it will be of some use to you.

I would somehow suppose that the quality of the Fotoman HF mount will be better than that of your camera - unless you have a professional manufacturing capability. Just have a look at their cameras - do they seem worse than yours? Just my two cents.
