Fujinon 180mm A on an MPP Mk VIII?

I have a Schneider 180mm Symmar-S lens for my MPP Mk VIII, but the Camera can not be folded with the lens attached. I am considering trading it up for a new Fujinon 180mm f/9 `A` lens provided that the Camera will fold properly with the lens attached.
I know it means losing slightly over a stop less light at maximum aperture, but it would be more convenient for carrying around. Does anyone know if the Camera will fold properly with the Fujinon?

Keith, I don't have an MPP Mk VIII to try these 2 compact process lenses (or the Fuji A 180 f/9 out on:

150mm Docter Optics f9 Apo Germinar

150mm Schneider G-Claron

All three lenses work very well at infinity and in close-ups as well.

Rob and Tom, thanks for replying. The 150mm lenses mentioned are interesting and I will bear those in mind although the 180mm is more to my own preference.

Can't help you directly with regard to this lens on the MPP but what I can say is its a stunning little lens. My only regret was selling it some years back now, needed the mony for a WA lens at the time. It is certainly a sharp performer at least to f64 but did seem to suffer from diffraction at f90 and images had an overall softness about them at this f setting.

You may have to resign yourself to lenses not fitting when folded.

My Speed Graphic wont accept my 80's Sironar f5.6 150mm, it may ccept my later 90's Sironar though.

The info I had from Robert White is that the lens is 48mm wide and 29mm from the lensboard to the front of the lens and 12 or 13mm (cant remember which) from the shutter.
How sharp are these lens?

My Fuji A 180mm is very sharp indeed! (A is for Apochromat). I made a Hassleblad adapter (and a 35 mm Contax SLR adapter for my 4x5.) I Shot Lots of sharp and beautiful Velvia Trannies in the Arizona desert mountains with this rig..

Well from those figures, the best performance from Keiths current lens is at f16.
