    Grafmatic 23 film size

A little confusion has set in - could be the fever from the flu...

What are the exact outer dimensions of "2x3" sheet film that fit the Grafmatic 23 film holder? I would prefer the 6.5x9 holders for the baby Linhof, but they are hard to come by.

Not sure of the exact size but I've always used the film sold as 2 1/4 x 3 1/4 in.

Do you have Linhof baby Technika? Linhof 6.5*9 metric size holders won't work with Graflex cameras, they have a different face and light traps. But Grafmatic 2x3 (and the corresponding two-sided holders) definitely accept the inch-sized film sold as 2 1/4 x 3 1/4", and it's slightly smaller compared with 6.5x9 metric film.

The outer dimensions of the Linhof 6.5x9cm holders, 2x3" Grafmatics, and 2x3" filmholders are all the same, but 6.5x9cm film is larger than 2.25x3.25" sheet film. All three types of holders will work in the Linhof 23.

As an aside--anyone who is interested in FP4+ in 2x3" format should contact The View Camera Store who have inquired about this size for a few of us, or contact one of the other suppliers involved in the Ilford special order once they assign a stock number. It looks like it's going to happen.

56 mm x 78 mm, John, +/- a little, if your casing has the pin rollers. Its been a while since I measured.

    6x9 is a poor metric approximation to 2.25" x 3.25".
