I'm plenty happy with the lens, I just have NEVER seen any information on it. I'd buy a 210mm S if one came up, I like the 300mm so well.
What size filters does your 210 take?
Thanks again
Mike
The 210mm takes 67mm filters.
Glad I could help.

Its normal, albeit an older Copal 3. The only Fujinon lens thats mounted in Copal 3s is the 250mm Soft Focus lens. I
The main difference between a normal Copal 3 and a 3s is the size of the bore. I forget the difference but I think its about 8 or 9mm.
HOpe it helps.

Thanks again Gary.
While your on a roll, do you know if a seiko 0 and copal 0 require the same size hole in the lens board?
thanks

Mine 300 5,6 Fujinon has a Copal 3S with 82mm filter and with text on the ring, and I saw a 300 5.6 Fujinon-W with 77mm filter with text on the barrel in Copal 3S.
I'm looking for a 300 Fujinon i Copal 3 to use the shutter for other things also.
What, if any 300 5.6 Fujinon are in Copal 3?

Do you just want a #3 shutter? Or do you want a #3 and a Fuji?

I'd love to have a #3 shutter only for my projects, but the cheapest around are "ugly" 240 and 105mm-filter-300 symmar-s and cost $260 to $375.
So, yes, I could keep my present pre-W Fuji, and buy a shutter alone with 58mm threads.
-
If you only need the shutter why are you worried about the filter size?
Cheapest I've seen are the Calumet branded versions of the Symmar-S. I'm having a brain cramp and can't remember the name-( But I got mine from KEH in BGN grade for $150. I'm still not sure why it was bargain.

The Fujinon 300mm W F/5.6 in both single and multicoated versions, as well as the current 300mm CMW f/5.6 are all mounted in standard Copal 3 shutters.
Hope it helps.

Yes, we will not find a Fujinon 300/5.6 in a smaller shutter than Copal 3
But we can differ between 3 (with threds 58 mmx0,75) and 3S (with threds 56 mmx0,75) according to description here:
http://www.skgrimes.com/products/index.htm
Here is a 300/5.6 Fujinon-W in a 3S (confirmed 56mm threads) on ebay, the text on the shutter is "COPAL":

I still wonder if there are there any 300mm/5.6 Fujinon i a "standard" Copal 3? If so, please substantiate.

I got a 4x5 Sinar Norma a few months ago and Fuji lenses caught my eye as well. I've rounded out my collection with the following two:
Fujinon W 180mm f5.6, has around 305mm image circle 21,000 (~$210USD)
Fujinon W 240mm f6.7, 398mm image circle paid 27,000 yen (~$270USD)
Both were bought with the idea of moving up to 8x10 eventually.
The 180 may be a bit longer than normal, but I sold my hasselblad gear and moved into 4x5 primarily for movements, and I like having the freedom to compose using shifts/rise/fall (in addition to my feet) to select the elements I want.
Also was able to pick up a Nikon 90mm f4.5 for 27,000 yen, had some cleaning marks on the rear element but for my budget I won't complain.
