    Fujinon C 300mm with 8x10 experience

So right before this past Christmas I was able to purchase a Fujinon C 300mm for use with my current 8x10 camera. I have made quite a few pictures with it, however have failed to make any actual prints till earlier today....... it doesn't seem particularly sharp? I use rise and shift quite often could this have something to do with it or is this lens not nearly as sharp as the G-Claron I used a few times? Any experiences with this lens on an 8x10 are welcome.

I just recently acquired this lens (new) here and canada and have no issues with it as far as sharpness is concerned. I have read a comment someone left on photo.net about the lens being soft which originally concerned me when i was deciding on purchasing it.

I have tried one before purchasing it for a day and it produced sharp negs, I also know 2 people who have this lens on a 8x10 and it's sharp for them. I use mine on a 4x5 with substantial movements so any sharpness issues should show up even more given the smaller neg.

Could it be that you got a defective lens ? Between this 300mm and my shneider 135mm i don't see any differences in sharpness.

I guess it's possible you used so much rise that you went best the good IC. If that's the case the edge should be soft but part of the image good. So is the whole negative soft?
