Edward Curtis orotone

Well today I saw something special--two original Edward Curtis orotone's. I stopped by an elderly couple's home to look at a Speed Graphic and on one of his walls were two beautiful Curtis prints. I was amazed at the depth and tone of these. The gentleman remarked that they had been purchased for a few dollars many years ago at an estate sale. I found one of the prints online--sold for around 17,000. I bought the speed by the way--mint condition, truely cared for. Now I just have to see if the shutter focal shutter is on! Thought I would share--I could have stared at those photos for hours!

We saw some of these at the AIPAD show. They sure are something to behold!
