    Symmar-S filter size

I am looking at buying the 300mm Schneider Symmar-S lens, but the filter size is huge. Anybody know the size of the rear filter thread?

I looked at that chart on their website before I posted, it only lists the front filter thread, which is 105mm, much larger than my Series 9 filters. I need to know the rear filter thread size so I can see if the Series 9 will fit.

Look again: D2 on the chart. 80mm if I recall correctly.

OK... sorry. D2 appears to be the outside diameter of the rear element, not the rear threads.

Not a problem, I found that the Symmar-L is a 77mm rear thread, as well as a 105mm front. So it may be the same with the Symmar-S. I need to find an affordable 77mm-S9 adapter.

If nobody knows for sure I'll dig out my Calumet version of the lens. I wonder which box it's in . It's not a small lens no matter what.

Would you please, Nick. Now I'm dying of curiousity too. As an alternative, you can send it to me and I'll measure it for you... wouldn't that be more convenient?

Are you promising to come here and look for it? -) I think I know which room it's in so it's only figuring out which box it's in. Considering how heavy it is I guess I could just pick the heaviest box -)
