    150mm G-Claron in Copal #0, Thread size?

I just ordered a 150mm G-Claron to go with my 210mm G-Claron. I've found several sources on-line claiming different thread sizes for the 150mm.... I want to make sure I order the right step-up ring. Does anyone actually have this lens? Any other pertinent info would also be appreciated of course. Thanks! Shawn

Threads are the same as for any other Copal 0 (or any Compur 0 since around 1930, and any with a Schneider or Voigtländer lens even before that) - assuming you mean the shutter thread.

If you mean the barrel, there may well be different versions of that, although I seem to remember that mine had the same mounting thread as a Copal 0.

The cell threads are also standard for a Copal 0.

The 150mm G-Claron I used to own had a 35.5mm filter thread. B&W make a step-up ring to 52mm. It's a bit pricey, but if 52mm is your standard you can get there in one go.

Ah sorry - I didn't think about filter threads at all. since I use a lot of different lenses of a lot of different ages and all possible (and some impossible) filter threads, I've standardised on Lee GelSnap. Fits anything, even those oddballs without threads or the tiny little wide-angle lenses that are completely buried inside the shutter (or barrel).

Ole, thank though I guess I wasn't very clear. I'm wondering what the thread on the front of the barrel will be. I'm looking to get a step-up ring so I can use my 58mm filters. If the barrel varies then it sounds like I should wait until I receive the lens to place my order...

    Steve,
those B+Ws from BandH are what I plan on ordering. I've heard/read 35.5mm a couple times now... I'm still thinking maybe I should wait until I get it to be sure though. Thanks! Shawn

No, the barrel is the thing the lens is mounted in when it's not in a shutter.

The filter thread is on the front lens cell, and tends not to vary too much.

You can find ALL the data on the G-Clarons at Schneider's website - here: http://www.schneiderkreuznach.com/archiv/archiv.htm

Thanks fellows. That's enough of a consensus for me. I'm ordering the 35.5mm to 49mm SUR from B+W. Thanks again! Shawn
