Was this Price to high?
To all experience LF people, I have a question. I just purchased a Omega View 45d The auction was at
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MakeTrack=true
The price was 350.00, according to the seller all in excellent condition.
I only had a few hours to do some research and ask questions before I purchase. I have read good things and bad things about the 45D
I am rather new to LF and have used a Graphic View before, but I wanted something a little lighter and was told this would fit the bill.
However I have no experience in pricing LF equipment. So I am asking for some comments.
Keep in mind there will be no shipping costs since I will be picking up, Ok 12.00 for gas, they are about 45 miles away.
Thanks

I would say it really depends on what that lens & shutter is. If it is a standard 150mm or 210mm in a copal, compur or so and working, I would say you did fine. Maybe not a steal or anything, but a lens/shutter as I mention will go for $150 - $250, the holders $40 (unless an Apuger grants you some) and the case is probably worth $40 - $50. So you will have paid $160 to $10 for the camera body.

depends what the lenses are.
I got a Omega 45d camera and a couple film holders and some odds and ends (no lenses) a couple years ago for $200 so figure a base camera of $180-220 and then figure out what all the other goodies are worth.
Personally, yeah, I would say you probably got an OK deal.

That was my thoughts, I figured with the lens, holders and case 350.00 was reasonable. I would not have purchased this if it was not local, however. Seller to new on eBay.
Forgive my lack of knowledge on lens and such, I only ever had a 210MM Kodak Commercial Ektar on and Ilex, but the lens the ad states is a Symmar 150mm 5.6 Shneider, I am not familiar with this, so I am hoping it at least a decent lens.
Thanks

Omegaview 45D - $125
Schneider 150mm Symmar-S in copal #0 : $175
film holders $5/each (qnty: 12) : $60
Dark cloth, cable release and case: priceless.
I'd say you did OK if everything is, in fact, in excellent condition.

Thanks for the feed back. Now that I pick the equipment up, I am quite please with it's condition. Very mint other the the case which just shows normal wear. The lens is a Symmar-s 150 mm F5.6 MC. Mounted on a Copal shutter.
A new question, from what I read there is no such thing as a Copal 0.0 but the shutter clearly shows Copal - N 0.0
Everything works fine, just wondering about the shutter.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I'm getting read to put a Sinar F with one lens board on the bay and was hoping it would get to around 275, doesn't look likely based on the sale above.

Copal Number 0
abbraviate the word "Number" (in English) and you get...
Copal No. 0

no, I think a Sinar is going to get more money. One of the worst things about the Omega 45 is the fact that the bellows cannot be removed. Sinar is also a different level of quality than Omega.

Understand abbreviation of the word "Number" was wondering if 0.0 meant something different then 0 at least in regards to the shutter.
Thanks
