    My first LF outfit

Film holders get to me Monday (Thanks to Dlin for dealing with me) Body came a couple of weeks ago (Thanks to Max Bloom for having that tank of a camera at a reasonable price) and the lens arrived on Thursday (thanks to a helpful fellow over at thephotoforum). With luck I should have photos posted by next Sunday.

Good luck, have fun, take your time. I've found LF both an incredibly enjoyable experience and a pita, depending on what you're trying to achieve. There's nothing like looking at a 4x5 or 8x10 tranny or neg on a lightbox.

Have fun. Go slow. Remember that one shot on large format roughly takes up the area of nine shots of 35mm, so you don't wanna waste your materials; gets expensive!

    5x7!

Darn! How quickly we forget! 5x7 is the noblest of the LF formats and still practiced by a few of us...

What is your "tank"? Mine was a 5x7 Gundlach Korona View. I still have it, although it goes out less often than before...

Congrats on the LF gear! Now go out and have some fun... enjoy the process. Even the goof-ups are fun, frustrating but fun.
