    ABC Photocolour, Vancouver

I just got my first batch of 4x5 Portra back from ABC Photocolour in Vancouver... 10 sheets processed contact printed for proofs and shipped expressfor CDN$48. (now if only I had given them something worth their time to really make a fine print.) Their staff has been very helpful in emails and over the phone. They especially take a great deal of care packing and shipping. They are definitely on my preferred list of Canadian vendors of film products.

Ansel Adams had the Zone System... I'm working on the points system. First I points it here, and then I points it there...

I can remember when they were new .

They were originally set up by a number of pro photographers (4 IIRC) who wanted a top grade lab to do their wedding, portrait and commercial photofinishing. I've used them whenever I wanted pro quality work for a very long time (hint: when I started, Vericolour II was the newest thing).

They were my lab of choice too, since there was nothing in Kamloops while I was there. Always found them friendly and helpful, both in person and on the phone.
