Actually, 5x8 is in current production. Chamonix is making and selling a 5x8 camera. And 5x8 film holders to go with the camera. Takes exactly half of an 8x10 sheet, no waste (so I've been told).

I just wish I had the money.

Yes, Shen Hao will make 5x8 GG backs as well. I use one with Chamonix holders.

And one sheet of 8x10 will make two sheets of 5x8 if my math is correct.

Yes, it cuts perfectly from 8x10. Also there is still fresh 5" roll film.
