LF: I need help! Cambo SC

    Hello apugers

I recently got a Cambo SC along with a new enlarger. It did not come with a lens. I have a Schneider-Kreuznach Xenar in a Synchro Compur-d (maybe p?) What size lens board do i need? where can i get them CHEAP? Also, does anybody make a graphic to cambo lensboard? if so it might be more economical to mount the lens in a graphic board (i think i have a spare one somewhere) and itll be easier to switch between my Crown and Cambo. Thanks for the help!

Contact Richard Ritter and possibly he can make you a lens board adapter. There is another fellow on ebay that also makes custom adapter boards. He made me one so I could use my lenses mounted on my Zone VI lens boards on my Cambo.

You never mentioned the focal length of the lens you bought.

This page should help you look up your lens information:

    https://www.schneideroptics.com/info..._lenses/xenar/

You can also check E bay. EP Levine, Midwest Photo, National Camera, and Keh for a lens board. You should be able to look up your Lens and shutter to find out what size Copal hole it might need. I think SK Grimes has a listing on lens board hole size measurements.

I may or may not have a Cambo board I can possibly sell you but I need to know what size you actually need.

    Hope this helps,
    Jason

4x5, I presume. The boards are metal and specific to 4x5 Cambos. Often offered on eBay.

Y'r Xenar is most probably a 135/4.7 and in a #0 shutter. To confirm: front and rear cells both threaded M29.5x0.5. The shutter is a Synchro-Compur P.

I have a 2x3 SC, which uses smaller boards than the 4x5. I also have many lenses on 2x3 Pacemaker Graphic boards. I sent SKGrimes a 2x3 Cambo board and a 2x3 Pacemaker Graphic front standard from which they made an adapter. You can do this. Glenn Evans (www.glennview.com) may be able to provide one ready-made. If you have just the one lens, it would be more cost effective to get a Cambo and a Graphic board for it and swap as needed.

Spot on and how can i forget the focal length! Thanks. I think your right about the 0 shutter board. I got one that is slightly bigger and one slightly smaller (which i presume is a #00 if they exist and is probably for a wide angle lens (hence why its recessed).

Dan, I do not know about the 2x3 but if its a 4x5, the boards are metal and they fit both my 4x5 SC and my 8x10 Legend.
