    Now you mention this, i remember i once heard about those, yes.
    Did you not first have to wet the plates in a succession of fluids before you could see the image?
    If only someone would invent something that held those fluids as a sticky gel, which you then could press against those precoated plates to make the image appear...

    You guys are making this all too difficult---I just use a mirror to look at the reflection of the groundglass. The only problems are that I can't take pictures of vampires that way, and I need a huge darkcloth....
