Waiting for my Keith 4X5 Twin Lens

I have been thinking about buying a twin 4X5 for a while. Another one came up on ebay and I finally went for it. Talk about a mystery camera, well, this is it. It was my search for info on the Keith that led me to APUG. This is a great place and I am happy to be here. My search continues for any information on the Keith. This weekend I am heading to the antique shops to look through old photo magazines. You never know what you might find. Somewhere out there I sure there is an article on the Keith.

Congrats on the Keith, and a big welcome to Apug! I for one am happy you found us. Now my curiosity is piqued, I'll have to do some research on a Keith 4x5.

    A Keith? Good for you.

    Here's an odd 'un: http://www.leboncoin.fr/image_son/222679681.htm?ca=12_s

Not mine and I have no connection with the seller.

Thank you for the warm welcome. The big box should be on my porch this week. I have not used 4x5 in a while,so I'm very excited. There seems to be plenty of choice as far as film. I was a big fan of Polaroid and it is unfortunate that Polaroid is gone.I figured Fuji would be worth a try, but now they have discontinued all but the fast grainy 4x5 instant black and white. I guess it shouldn't surprise me. Whatever film I decide to use for my portraiture, there will be a lot of it in the fridge.

I don't think the Fuji 3000 is grainy.
You can still get the 100 speed colour.

I just made the assumption that the Fuji was grainy since it is 3ooo. Thank you for your reply. I will give the Fuji a try.I am just uncertain about any film product these days. I have heard mention that this film may be dropped as well. The 200.00 cost for the holder is not cheap. I just found out about the 100 film, being out of large format for a while, so I was excited, only to find out it is on the way out. I think one of the Polaroid holders will work with the Fuji film.

Well, the big twin 4x5 is in. I have been cleaning her up nicely. Now that I have familiarized myself with the camera, I like it more and more. It is not clumsy or awkward at all. I installed a Sinar spring back with ground glass. It fit perfectly. Now I can actually focus on both upper and lower ground glass. And if I want to work real close, I can use just the bottom. I will post some pics to share with anyone interested.

I have been using the Fuji FP-100B 3x4 film in my 4x5 Pacemaker Speed. It is half the cost of the 4x5 Fuji instant film, and it is a 100 speed film. I have an old Graphic Polaroid holder which works well.

Fantastic camera. I'd think that would be great for portraits (like the Gowlandflex). What are you going to use it for?
