So, I took the kids to KOP for a couple of days of spoiling before school starts Tuesday.

On the way back, we go through Wilmington on 95 and pass the turn off headed down 1 for home and the beaches. I drive on over to Newark and find my little honey hole, skirting the north edge of the UD campus.

    Cameras Etc.

My daughter just got a Nikon S80 P&S so she wanted a case for it. These guys will have it. While she's talking with the clerk, I wander over to their darkroom section. I show off all the Ilford paper covers to my son. "Yeah, I know these guys."

Em is wrapping it up over by the consignment counter so I meander over to her there. Then I stop Dead Cold about ten feet away. There, in the midst of the D-clutter, lies a beautiful Zone VI 4x5. Yeah, it's in user condition. Needs a couple of acorn nuts to retain some thumb knobs (got them ordered). But this thing looks beautiful. I ask to see it. The guy looks at me and says 'You know about these things?'. Yeah, I know a little.

Movements are great, bellows are light tight, folds like a gem. Hard to say know at $300. So that, the S80 case and a 10ct brick of 135-36 TMY-2 leaves the store with us. The perfect end to a perfect little getaway.

    Now, I must play.
    Thank you

    -C

Good for you, on all counts. Any family time is quality time, and especially when it's photo related.

It was doing its small part to make up for this year's bad karma.

    Enjoy!

    Chris:

I'm guessing that Elizabeth would have approved.

Hang in there, and have fun.

Your new here so we will let this slide. Chris' wife recently passed.

Congrates on the new find CW. Did you and the kids get any good shots? Did you get some shots of the kids with the new camera?

A few years ago Chris drove half way across Pennsylvania to pick up a 5x7 enlarger when he did not have a 5x7 camera and there was not a peep from Elizabeth about it.
