Is anyone familiar with a binding focus bed on a wista wooden field camera?
The first couple of inches of travel its fine, but the further you extend it the
worse it gets. One guy told me to put furniture polish on it which only made it worse. Don't know what to do now. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Larry

Check to see if: 1.) The locking knob opposite the focus knob is tightening as the focus rack moves forward (loosen it again.)
    2. If the bed or rack appears to be warped, for which I can offer no advice.

The left side locking knob binding is a common issue. It usually only catches me out when I am using a longer lens that needs racking out for infinity focus, or when I change from normal to close-up distances. If you position the front standard for infinity with the lens you are using, you shouldn't have a problem while focusing.

I've had a Wista DX for over 15 years. This is common "problem," and it's something you'll get used to quickly. It's no big deal. The furniture polish should have made it better.
