Not unless you know someone who has a stash. Any that's out there is getting pretty dated by now. Even in the sealed boxes it didn't keep very long.

I've got 2 sealed boxes and an opened one of 55 in the freezer. I never did get a film holder for this stuff, so for $20 each? It is old stock, it might be OK, but then it might not.

chances are if it was in the FREEZER the chemical pods are ruined.
if it is #55 film, the film can be removed and processed like any other 4x5 film

If you do have aged color 545 film, treasure it and use it well! It will probably have some interesting color renditions, might be very nice for transfers etc.

You can also modify a 545 holder to use with fuji quickloads, if you can get your hands on any of those.

I have several boxes of *refrigerated* 55 and 665. Haven't decided what to do with it yet but I do love the stuff.

Thanks for the info. My other pack films seemed to survive OK. The dedicated film freezer is set for about 25 deg F. Mostly to save energy and I don't think there is any reason to keep the film colder. If film is going to spoil with age -20 is not going to help a whole bunch.

@Cruzingoose: the issue is really just crystalisation of wet chemicals in the film, the extent of which will depend on a thousand different factors - important the time it took to freeze the film.

People have apparently had good results with freezing film with liquid nitrogen (or something similar) and then vacuum-seeling it.

PS: Don't even drunk drivers usually buy the cars whilst they're sober...?

So flash freeze will not cause crystals? Interesting.... Really, I never considered the chemical to even freeze, just get thicker in consistancy, like honey.

Yeah, Drunk drivers always buy cars when sober. It's what happens at the bar after the sale while celebrating the next 6 years of payments and and showing their bar buddies how it handles after having a few.
