Is this a dream piece of glass?
Is this type of glass useful for lenses and other photographic applications?

If anything, it would be perfect for filters.

It seems similar to the Schneider/B+W Nano Multi Resistant Coating (N-MRC) available on some filters. I've been experimenting with it as an anti-newton ring glass for negative carriers. Didn't work.

Would also be great for viewfinders, mirrors, flat/non textured side of focusing screens, ground glass for LF. Lots of possibilities if the texturing does not affect light transmission much/ or alter the path of light significantly. They said the process is similar to pressing a texture onto the glass as it cools, but the texture is super small and fine.

Would be perfect for many applications. In a house, a "glass roof" or a "Wintergarten" would have the glass always cleaned. We would see a new generation of houses with large window surfaces. When it rains, rain would glide off my glasses, and my front lens. And I would clean my windows once every 10 years instead of once a year!
