Astronaut’s Photography Manual prepared by Hasselblad

A friend sent a link about all the fancy equipment that was used to photograph the recent record setting parachute jump. It was intriguing, but what I really liked was one of the related stories, which linked to this wonderful Hasselblad manual that apparently is still on their website: http://www.hasselblad.com/media/2207...glepage_lr.pdf

    2) Do not try to focus visually for earth shots, simply set lens at infinity.
    How cool is that?

What an interesting thing to peruse. I thought the inclusion of the photograph of Challenger was especially poignant. Thanks for sharing.

Finally, this should clarify to people who use feet as the replacement for the focal length.

Also like the composition advice for placement of horizon line on P. 32... not really a line when you're up there, it's a curve.

Two things I imagine that's difficult wearing a space suit. Loading Hassy A-12 back and going to the bathroom. I'm sure both are messy.

Two more things to add to the list.... A stinking cold and the after-effects of a Vindaloo curry in Blackpool.

I saw this quite a while ago. I actually think it's one of THE BEST general photography books ever.
