My Tiltall head broke!
Well, the head didn't actually break. But the screw used to mount the camera on the head did. Since then I've been using a bolt with a few nuts and washers on it. To attach a camera, I actually have to twist the camera onto the screw and then use a wrench I bring along to tighten a nut underneath the camera. Does anyone know where I could get another one of these pieces or, even better, does anybody know of a different center column I could get for this tripod that would allow me to use a quick release head? It's getting such a pain setting up my tripod like this. Any help would be much appreciated.

This belongs under repairs, but does not matter.
Screws for attatching a camera to a head come from most tri-pod mag's.
The one from Gitzo is good, because you can adjust the depth.
If this is not the answer you are seeking, please put a picture of the trouble-spot here.
Greetings,
Peter

Is the head an integral part of the center column or screwed on? If the latter, you might just replace the head. I was somewhat surprised to discover that an inexpensive aluminum tripod I own had a 3/8" threaded stud holding the head. I replaced the old head with a Manfrotto ball head with QR.
