My Nikon FE is currently loaned to a woman I'm mentoring. She uses my darkroom, no charge. I've really enjoyed teaching her how to load film in a tank, print with MG papers. She is starting to collect equipment so she'll be able to build her own darkroom some day.

It would have been nice to see someone take me under their wing. I am entirely self taught, and learned through osmosis. And only shot digital just a year ago. Now I am making 50" wide color prints. :]
I do have to say, APUG certainly has been a huge help. And my local camera shop, they're the best! Dedicated to the fine artist. :]

I however just gave a friend of mine a Holga, flash, and 5 rolls of Tri-X. She is now calling and texting me every few minutes asking how she should expose. It just makes me happy. Analog photography deserves newbies. Especially people my age. And younger. Digital will never teach what I learned from using film.

One becomes a mentor to whomever asks a photography specific question. Lots of teachers at work are using digital. At church one gets both analog and digital. The same happens with "shooter" friends I hang out with. Often one of us us mentoring the other.
