Linking to other sites and companies from your own website

I have recently started developing my website, and would like to include some links to various people / companies in the following format:

    ----
A few web links for those who are interested:

www.ilfordphoto.com - Manufacturer of film, photographic paper, and chemicals etc.

www.kentmere.co.uk - Manufacturer of photographic and inkjet papers.
    ----

Are there any problems with this which I haven't thought about?

Another question is the issue of trademarks. What if anything do I need to do if I want to write, say 'Printed on Kentmere Fineprint FBVC Glossy from a ILFORD DELTA 100 negative.' ?

    Thanks.

    Tom -

The only concern with including links is where do you stop? The list of potential candidates could be daunting.

As to the trademark issue, the correct answer is that you should acknowlege trademarks, and it doesn't hurt to err on the side of correctness. In your example, i suspect both "Fineprint" and "Delta 100" are registered trademarks. However, the web seems to be a less formal environment, and I don't recall having seen a lot of trademark notices. That's especially true in text where to acknowlege a trademark requires that you find the coding necessary to embed the superscript "TM" notation.

On the other hand, if you choose to use manufacturer's logos (which you can snare simply by going to their site and right-clicking over the logo), you definitely should include a trademark notation.. See, for example, the banner ad in the upper right corner of the APUG page - on many of these, Sean has properly included the trademark notation.

I wasn't planning on using logos, just text references.
