So here's another (demographic) question I have also been meaning to ask. I see that many of us are not professional photographers or photographer artists, but hobbyist, serious ones at that.
That being said, what's your profession?
Myself, I was head of regional engineering for a large multinational drug corporation that was taken over by an even larger one last year. I now head up a global continuous improvement department for the R&D operations of that larger pharmaceutical company (let's just call it Drugs R Us).
Photography is a hobby for me and wonderful departure from the corporate mish mash.
I am a derivatives trader for an energy company. The markets I trade are the European gas markets, oil markets, oil products and coal. I also speculate on the metals and currency market using options to manage and trade volatility. My next project will be to look into trading weather derivatives and emissions markets. Photography keeps me focused and is my only creative outlet. I am certain it helps in dealing with the stress of this kind of work.
