At the same time there have been a few complaints about these new threads cluttering up the "new messages" view, so what I'm going to propose is that we have one "sticky" thread for all such announcements. Please post "funny eBay" stuff in this thread, and I'll try to merge any new "funny eBay item" threads into this one.
Check out this one:

"Graflex Century Master Studio 8" x 10" Camera 1890's"

They appear to have 2 different cameras. Looks like some sort of reflex camera, the other a studio View camera.

I contacted the seller, indicating this, and was told
"It is pictured assembled and with the outer case removed."

I think the seller screwed up. As for the 8X10, it looks like my short bed Century 4a, but with a 4X5 back on it. Funny, the listing says "Camera is in excellent condition and the owner says it works fine", yet I see tears in the bellows you can shove a film holder through.

BTW - if it IS a 4a, it would date to the late 1920's early '30's, not the 1890's.
Too bad they don't show more of the stand - THAT's something I'd bid on...

Yup, not weird, the seller just does not know what he is talking about, he has two seperate cameras in the pictures, one is a Reflex graphic and the other is a 4a as bob said.

Looks like the deals we'd find at auctions 20 yrs ago.

5x7 back, I think - doesn't seem to show an 8x10.

A couple groovy lenses

A sound camera ( the bellows could be a lot worse, and really aren't an issue ! )

Looks to be a just-before-battleship grey model

The only tricky bit is the condition of the coil spring on the stand: obviously it hasn't broken because the whole shootin' match is still at the top of the stand ! But the steel is sort of brittle, and you my beware of that being the achilles heel of 70 yr old stand. Also, the pawl that locks into the rack tends to wear smooth.

But they are getting scarce ( are scarce ) and they are undeniably sweet to shoot with.

Anybody recall Ansel's 8x10 enlarger ???

Figure on driving over to the seller's in your pick-em-up truck !
.

Just wondering...

None of you have mentioned this rather worrying bit in the add: "This Camera is very heavy and will need to be shipped in several boxes." Is the seller gonna dismember the poor thing and divide its remains over a set of boxes or something?

Hmm, dunno Laz, this is beyong my usual eBay risks. Just bought a rather cheap Sinar shutter -without the cable release- that may not work. This is going to be an interesting one, since we don't have a cable release for the thing either

Laz, there is a point there...

but we can alsobe keeping some innocent (?!?) APUGger from getting into a nasty situation where expectations are not met.

Interesting enough, I was sent a message today from the seller informing me that BOTH cameras are included in the auction.

Hmmm...

I still suspect "Not a clue".
