Default The interesting analog photo gear I saw for sale or free today

Use this thread to post things you found for sale or for free that might be interesting to analogue photographers. That might be a camera shop that is liquidating or someone selling their darkroom or a big enlarger you saw on Craigslist or an unusual camera you found on eBay, and things like that--unusual things that someone might really be interested in, and please describe what it is, rather than making people click on a link to find out.

If the item is on eBay or another auction site that hasn't yet been bought by eBay, ask yourself before posting whether you're going to help APUG members out by pointing out something that they would likely miss, or will you spoil the auction for a few people who are intrepid searchers and are waiting to bid at the last minute, and if the latter, then consider posting after the auction has ended.

If you just saw some crazy funny ad, say, for a box of Dupont Velour Black with a photograph of the paper itself, then post it in the "Wacky thing I saw on eBay" thread (it doesn't actually have to be from eBay, as long as it's wacky)--

Do not use this space to promote your own sales or auctions.

Photogizzmo in NYC has a 12x20 Folmer with film holder and lens. I saw it a couple weeks ago, and it is in pretty nice shape. I don't know anything about the lens, though. Luckily, I know I can barely afford my 8x20 addiction.

Not inexpensive, but if you have to have a 12x20 NOW, it's still listed on their website.

Also, there's a Jobo CPA2 on the Denver Craiglist going for about $150 below eBay's average (given condition and what's included), but the seller is not willing to ship, and I won't be out there anytime soon.

I thought this McGizmo was fun. It's an original Folmer Graphlex device to check and see if your flash sync is working right with those pesky flash bulbs. Not to worry, I'll not be bidding

Default Unremarkable craigslist entries

The thing with Craigslist is that there are people who list and have no idea of the value, and there is no listing fee to encourage them to research the actual current price.

An example is Toronto's craigslist today has someone selling a minty looking Minolta X-700 and minolta zoom to suit, with an asking price of $600. For a few dings in it I will be willing to pick mine up of the *bay for maybe $100-200.

The other thing is when people post the first ebay listing for a whole lot. I surmise it is usually a spouse looking to get some space back in the basement now that the hub has been buried. A Halifax Nova Scotia listing had a 4x5 view camers, with a larger collection of lenses, in shutters and lens boards, and a 4x5 modern enlarger, along with paraphenalia like holder,s hangers, tanks, etc. The starting proce was $6000. I did not keep an eye on it to see if it sold.

An older Beseler 23C - going cheap.

A decent-looking Omega C700, would make a nice starter kit for a young person looking to get into b/w work.

I have a suspicion that this will become an even more popular thread than the Joke thread, given time.

Yes, and unfortunately, the thread with the most 'dead' links, as Craigslist postings only last like 7 days.

Hmmm... I wonder if THAT'S the shop I'm thinking of - there used to be a great LF shop in Lower Manhattan (TriBeCa I think - or between that and SoHo) - tiny... but with really great stuff (pancake cameras, etc..) - is that the same one? Anybody know?
