Default My Good Experience with Dwayne's but Bad Experience with My 110

OK, so I went to Maui a few weeks ago and shot something like 50 rolls/equivalent of film, including 4 cartridges of 110 film.

Sent the 110 film to Dwayne's - completed their online form, etc... Now in the past, I have had nothing but really bad QC issues with them with my Kodachrome film, so I was reluctant to send them anything. In this case with my 110 film, I have no choice. They are the ONLY processing lab that takes 110 film.

Well, this very thin package came back ... oh oh ...

The bad news is that not a single image came out! The frames are there - all clear and white - and the edge markings are properly exposed and readable. Drats! This means, the Pentax 110 camera I was using (I have 4 of them) is probably kaput shutter wise, since I have had no issues with the other cameras. Sucks. Now I have to think of something else for the Postcard Exchange.

The good news is that Dwayne's didn't charge me for processing! I have a warm fuzzy feeling now for Dwayne's and will be sending them film again.

They did insert a note saying the film was bad - I disagree - it's the camera. If it was the film, the edges would have been affected too. Anyway, those of us that have had bad experiences with Dwayne's in the past should give them a try again. We need all the film labs we can kept alive.

Regards, Art.

I'd have to check to be certain that it's not sent to an outlab, but I'm pretty sure the London Drugs chain in Western Canada still has one store left that processes 110.
