Default BIG Australian Roadtrip!

We're off on a big roadtrip from this weekend -
from Perth (Western Australia)
through the Nullabor Plain (desert) for 3 days across to Adelaide,
then another 10 hours to Melbourne
and another 8 or so hours to Canberra
and another 4 hours to Sydney...

...and then the whole thing back again.

Should take us about 2-3 weeks with portrait sessions along the way. Looking forward to some forced quality time with the family.

So, if you have any great tips on events anywhere, interesting locations, want to meet up and/or even have your photo taken... then drop me a quick email as we leave in a couple of days. Not sure about phone coverage across the desert but after the weekend it'll be best to text or phone me.

Might see you along the way.
Cheerio,
Nicole

Let us know when you're in Melbourne, Nicole. There are a few of us here, so we should be able to organise a get-together.

Hi Nicole,
I'd be happy to host a BBQ in Sydney and get a few of the Sydney-siders together at my place. I will be overseas for 2 weeks in early Sept so when you have some ideas about likely dates for Sydney let us know. On your way from Melbourne to Canberra you might consider a long detour through Lake Mungo national park. Safe travels and may the light always be kind.

Thank you very much Kevin & Tony. A gathering might be a little tricky mid-week but would love to catch up if you have time. At this stage I think we'll be in Sydney on Wed/Thu, of which I have commitments in the afternoon/evening. We head to Canberra on Fri. If you like, send me your ph no's and I'll ring you as we get closer.

That is going to be tight to be in Sydney by then. Melbourne is 4 days at legal speeds using daylight only, at this time of the year. Assuming that Nicole has left around lunchtime today, her time, then it will still be a bit of a fast schedule.

I would like to meet up with her and at the very least, shout her a drink. Kevin I'll leave contacting for Melbourne to you, no need to hog her phone.

As she is traveling with her family it could be harder to arrange as well, but that shouldn't stop us trying.

Mick.

We're off now. Had to reverse the trip at short notice so heading to Sydney first straight across and then backtracking - so we can slow down in the Merlot countryside. Who knows which direction we head at the cross roads at Wyallah!

See you down the track.

I just heard from Nicole and she's on her way to Melbourne at the moment. They are staying with friends fairly close to the city, so it probably makes sense to try to arrange a get-together somewhere around the city on Sunday, probably around lunchtime. I know Mick is interested and will PM him. Anybody else who would like to join us, please send me a PM and we'll arrange something.

Hi Nicole, I'm glad you got back home safely from your travels abroad and are getting used to life upside down again ( bad joke about the southern hemisphere), and can spend some quality time with your family, have a good trip and enjoy yourself.
