Adress of photo shop in Prague
Hi all. I am trying to remember the location and the adress of this greeeeat photo shop that i visited in prague some months ago. On the outside it looks quit small but when you enter: boooom! explosion of photographic equipment. Does anybody know which shop I am talking about? could some please help me if they knew the name or the adress of the shop?
regards, kim.

I am in Prague right now, for one week, and I'm trying to find a photo shop that I distinctly remember. It's not PhotoSkoda, and it's not the Photo Pazdera (sp?) shop just down and across the street. The shop I'm thinking of -- as you walked in the front door, I think it was mainly new equipment. As you walked back further, there was a film counter and then further in the back was the used gear. The used gear was in two areas: left and right of a counter where the salemen were, and then going down another corridor that led, if I remember correctly, out of the shop and into a corridor in a shopping area. I remember lots of Meopta TLRs, and such. I got the impression that is was on the street part of those small shopping arcades that occupy the ground floor of the big old buildings in Prague.
Does anyone have the faintest idea of the shop I'm thinking I remember? I know it's there, I bought a Minox film slitter there....
Thanks!

well - your description sounds excately like fotoSkoda.
the other one in Vodickova (sp?) is called foto optica, and have a lot of used items - and a huge display of old stuff in the window.
I've veen in Prague about 20 times and apart from a small (once very nice) fotoshop called BS foto in Bethlemska, I don't know of big fotoshops there...
by the way: as I remember fotoskoda moved a couple of years ago! it was in the same street but on the other side; a little closer to Vlaslavske Namnesti.
maybe you bought your item there?

Thanks, Gandolfi. I bet that's it - the shop moved across the street. I kept walking out of Photo Skoda and looking down and across the street to the left, because that's where it seemed to me that the one I remembered should be.
Now I don't need to got chasing ghosts...

Definitely sounds like Photo Skoda -- absolutely one of the greatest camera stores anywhere! A visit to that place is worth a plane ticket, as if going to Prague were not reason enough to splurge!
It is staggering what an array of traditional equipment they have there. I found a superb Leitz 35mm PC lens there in mint condition and the price was right, just one of many I would have made if the wallet had permitted.

There's another place, near Národní třída, I think. On the same side as the supermarket. [Although it's possible I'm confusing that with foto optica]
Foto Skoda was better, though.
