Default my first roll in almost 20 year(sigh)

What a mess.It was a near total loss.I had a roll of 100 iso kodak vs done and a roll of 800 iso print.Dont get me wrong I did not expect much but was hoping for a few good shots.I have no idea how some ended upwith the lower half black and the top over exposed. There were 5 or 6 in the middle of the roll the I used a flash for and it has me stumped.Ill post one in the gallery Its kind of funny really,I had better luck with the slide film than print,go figure.

What kind of camera are you using? If you have shots that are 1/2 black and 1/2 over-exposed it sounds like there is a shutter problem.

Good Evening, Bob2,

I'm not familiar with the Konica T3. Does it use a Copal Square shutter? If so, your sync speed may be too high. (If you have a horizontally-running shutter, I'll leave the diagnosis to others.) It's not completely clear from your post whether "5 or 6 shots in the middle of the roll" are the ONLY flash shots or just five or six among other flash shots.

Konical has it just about right if all your ruined shots were flash. On your speed dial, there is a number in a different color (I am betting). For flash syncronization, you need to shoot below that number. This number is usually 60 or 125 (250 if you shoot a Nikon FM2n). Anyhow, Try another roll, ASA 200 or so, we are not talking major investment here, and shoot at 1/60, use the flash to determine aperture.

Don't worry, 20 years? You've just forgotten a thing or two.

Bob,
PM me. I see you are using a Konica T3. I have a couple of T3's with one in perfect shape that I got CLA'ed from Greg Weber. I have a very nice Konica FT-1 that I am not using. Meter seems to be right on. Uses 4 AAA batteries. I don't need the FT-1 and these days, you can't even barely sell Konicas on ebay. PM me and we'll work out a deal with shipping. I just gave away a bulk film loader for a Starbux card.

Default not a total loss

My shutter was set faster than the sync speed.
I learned something so money well spent.
