My best results with Efke films have always been obtained at a rating of half the box speed. I recently shot some portraits using strobe lights and rated Efke R50 at 40 (by mistake). The negatives were too thin, and necessitated my dialling in 45 units of magenta on the Saunders to get good prints on Bergger VCNB. (I figure this is roughly equivalent to Grade 3-1/2.) I had some outdoor shots on the same roll that I had shot earlier rated at 25, and they were suitably dense and printed well at Grade 2.Originally Posted by hblad120
