    Member climbing Mt. McKinley

A fine LF photographer and good friend Tim Jones aka "Climabout" is climbing Mt. McKinley presently. See daily dispatches on his progress to summit the tallest mountain in North America.

    Very cool!

I doubt he'll be able to lug any LF gear along, but hope to see some great shots.

Where I live, just south of Alaska's panhandle, we've had a couple weeks of windy, rainy, cold weather. Last night it snowed down to about 5,500' on the mountains around town...hope the weather is a tad bit more calm up north!

Way to go, Tim. Take your time coming back. Enjoy it.

Was he part of a team or did he take it Galen style?
    Thank you.

According to the link Steve Sherman (OP) shared with us there were four guides and seven climbers. Tim being part of the climbing team. If all went according to their posted itinerary, they should be flying off tomorrow.

    Congratulations, Tim!

Just got on the PC and checked the link. Talk about fortunate. I'm glad no one was more seriously injured or worse. I have no delusions of porting my huge frame on a frigid slope but I have always been drawn to climbing vicariously, as it were.
    Thank you.

The posts read as if there was no trouble and was a very successful trip. Am I missing something?
