Might I suggest that as a superior breed to those frivolous hand-held, digital selfie-makers, we coin anything we make using film and a tripod a "stiffie"?
A stiffie means something else altogether.

I'm glad you broke the ice... But it sure is good for a giggle and nice play with people's stereotypes, don't you think?
'Stiffie' can mean a number of things, but most choose the naughty version...

Many young men now a days like to send stiffie selfies to girls these days as well, I'm not one if them, but I have enough women complaining, it's confusing, stallions showing off I guess... Lol

I suppose this is where digital comes in handy
Using film would take too long; the young men would actually have time to reconsider. Not that they would, but certain excuses could not hold water.

Women do it to me a lot...

    Girl:
"Do you think I could model for you? Want to see what I look like?"

    Me:
    "If you feel comfortable"

    Girl:
"Oh I'm totally comfortable, I just hope you think I'm good enough"

    Picture picture picture...

    Girl:
    "What do you think?"

    Me:
    "You're great let's shoot"

    Girl:
"Oh my BF said I can't, sorry..."

    Me:
    *facepalm*

Would any selfie featuring an APUGger be a puggie?

Does this require multiple people to be all sitting on bookshelves in a group selfie? sounds bizarre...

Yeah, that's bizarre. Since bookshelves can't take pictures of themselves, we have to help them. Decorate them as you see fit.
