Default Help me please

I had to buy my first d****** camera for a certain job, which, ironically will result in my first published photos and the photos will only be published because of my writing. Ironic huh?

But anyway, to the point. I'm scared. What if it seduces me with convenience? I feel vulnerable and need reassurance.

Where do you live? We are on our way.....

JK.

Drudgetal is a fact of life with commercial photography and certain other fields. Don't sweat it, I do it to. I have too, or starve.

Convienient? Yes, sort of. Inspiring? Hardly. More like interfacing with a microwave oven, and about as tactile as my dishwasher.

You'll be fine.

OK Give us the lowdown. Did you get goosepimples when you purchased this illegal device or have bile rise in the back of your throat?

Hey, don't sweat it. You outgrew pimples without it ending your life. Ansel Adams thought commercial work was more or less Whoredom but one most suffer and sacrifice to make photographic ends meet. (I did wince upon reading your post, though. Poor sap.)

I've started doing photography with a DSLR and went to analog later. Perhaps that calms you down a bit. YMMV.

Ok, thank you all. I feel better now. Fortunately this seductive but cheap looking piece of plastic crap will probably be in the junk heap before I'm thoroughly corrupted.

Considering the amount of time the average d*****l photographer spends looking at his LCD checking c*r*e* and other stuff, instead of looking at his subject, I think this quote is not far from reality..., considering most people do the same thing looking at the microwave to see if their meal is ready

I shoot lots of digital and find it inspiring. Digital camera gave me a new perspective of vision and allowed to do things I could not acieve with film (I do not mean commercial achievements as I am a pure hobbyist). It is photography after all. Digital actually helped me to come back to photography after a long sleep. Now I have a bag for my Nikon D80 with a compartment for a vintage 6x9 folding camera and I take them both travelling. Sure digital lacks the feeling of craftsmanship you get when you work so meticulously on your prints, but unique fhotographer's vision and immediacy of capture are present. Get seduced!
