Quick Rant....

Ugh. Bitter sweet night. Waiting for the troops to come home since 0400 this morning. Plane Trouble in Germany. Finally 1600 (4 pm) they arrive. Best assignments one could have, documenting a family welcoming home their loved ones from war. This unit lost one Medical Doctor in the Green zone inside the Base.

A couple of Lady photographers were there. young ladies, the one's that are going to be the next "Celeb wedding photographers" and man 'o man, they have no friggin concept on how to work when other photographers working along side in the same room. Waling right in the frame, never looking as their working to mind the other professionals and they follow you because they feel you've got an eye for something unique and bam, right into the friggin frame with their big honkin' D9million.

Yes, I'm not one known for my great temperment. I was kind, polite and asked one to always please look as your working, walking and shooting when other photographers are in the room. *crickets* *hellew, is this thing on?*

It's like trying to tell your customer why he doesn't really need a battery for his truck and he still insists when you say battery and all he thinks of is that little metal box he licked as a kid that made his tongue all funny. Some folks just don't have the sense the good Lord gave a goat.

Keep thinking, The friggin' Green zone man, word is it's getting really nasty in the "Safe Zones" If we start thinning outside by reducing the buffer's and the patrols our guys, the quote/unquote "advisors" are going to get the heck kicked out of them. It's going to be too dang thin between them and the bad guys. Gotta love these guys and gals.

Well, we ranted about Bush, and Obama promised to put a stop to this. So, why is it going on and why is it not any better? Just rhetorical comments.

Are you talking about baby-Bush's war in Iraq, which seems to be a lost cause, or the original war against terror in Afghanistan, which probably could have been "won" if Bush hasn't taken his eye off the ball and gone into Iraq? I have no idea if Obama can resolve these clusterfcuks, but I'm pretty sure you can't just stop 2 wars in less than a year. Just sayin'.

Well, the truth of the matter is that it does not matter. Obama promised to fix them all. I'm waiting with no judgment, but it seems to me that no one can fix anything.

banana, I kind of don't want to make this into a bush bash, but I do agree with you big time.
I began to rant about these kids doing this to build up their portfolios, like shooting weddings for free but this is worse because this is really to be coming from the heart and as a big thank you guys, but then I'm thinking all night about how the hell are we going to "wind" down and still keep our boys and girls safe that are left behind to be "advisors" it simply does not compute.
I mean this doc, said to be a big time wiz in the medical world that asked for Iraq to help, get killed in the green zone in coming out of church.

You can be as kind and polite as you like to people like that but they'll probably do it again and again. They knew they were stepping in your way and they probably didn't care. Sadly, this is the way people behave these days... at least in the USA anyway.

Also remember that there is most likely some seasoned pro in the room looking at you with the same contempt that was shown to these ladies that had the same right to be there as the next person. To real pros, there is nothing worse than a weekend warrior that thinks they're the s**t.
