    Bronica ETRS CLA

Just bought a Bronica ETRS with a AE prism and the 75 2.8 from the classified section, the seller was kind enough to clearly state that the shutter sometimes sticks and suggested a CLA.

Was thinking of sending the camera off to KEH for a CLA, was just wondering if anyone here has any experience with having a CLA done on an etrs or could recommend someone who would do a CLA (KEH is kind of pricy considering I paid $100 for the kit.)

    Thanks in advance.

The ETRS uses leaf shutter lenses, with electrical timing in the camera body, so if it is the shutter sticking then chances are it is the lens not the body. One way to test would be remove the batteries and see whether the mechanically timed 1/500s shutter speed is working properly. If 1/500s is sticking then it's definitely the lens that is faulty.

I haven't tried them, but I believe kohscamera (http://kohscamera.com/) are Bronica specialists and I have read good reports of them.

Congrats on the ETRS, it's a lovely camera system with excellent lenses, I'm sure you will enjoy it once you've solved this problem.

Thanks Andrew. Looked up Koh's and they certainly do seem to be experts on bronica repairs. Will give them a call. Appreciate the help with information on the leaf shutter in the lens, I guess I will send in both body and lens. Can't wait to get my hands on the bronica soon!

Thanks Paul. The 50 and 75 2.8 are both very sensibly priced, so that just may be the best option!
