I'd second Jeff's opinion, "A camera will get you through times of no coffee better than coffee will get you through times of no camera!"... wise thinking, Jeff... A camera has gotten me through times of no anything in the past, I guess that it'll do it again in the future.

Get a GOOD LENS + camera, that's all you're going to need !!!

Ah, but you know that the most common type of girl cannot differentiate between a camera and an espresso machine. So, it is not the camera, but how you use it that counts!
    Come to think of it...
If you have an espresso machine at your house you can always invite the girls for coffee at home. The problem is that espresso will not work for you unless she is very very sleepy...
I only drink two types of coffee: espresso and turkish/greek.
I am quite proud of my technique of the latter type of coffee and when it comes to taste and effect I prefer that one.
It is just that Greek coffee shops make truly awfull coffee (how's that for an irony?) and so I have gotten used to drinking the italian one outside the house.
I will only drink turkish coffee if I make it or someone else whom I trust makes it.

So, my advice in final is this:
Morten, get a new camera and learn to make greek/turkish coffee.
You only need a cheap pot to make it and since it is a matter of technique and style you can flaunt your exotic abillities to the person you have escorted from the coffee shop in promise of better coffee and some photos to go with the experience!

(note: I had an argentinian tango teacher who uppon invited at her house would make you yerba matte to drink and then would snap your photograph while you distort your face at the first bitter sips)

You need to carry an old 8x10 Deardorff. Then they come out of nowhere and ask "Is that a Hasselblad?"

Why would yerba matte make you distort your face? I rather like the stuff (and did on first sip). But then, when I first tasted yerba matte, I was already experienced with Lapsang Souchong...
Photography has always fascinated me -- as a child, simply for the magic of capturing an image onto glossy paper with a little box, but as an adult because of the unique juxtaposition of science and art -- the physics of optics, the mechanics of the camera, the chemistry of film and developer, alongside the art in seeing, composing, exposing, processing and printing.

Yerba Matte can be drunk either straight which is bitter due to the herb's natural taste or sweetened. In Brazil I've drunk it with sugar but I guess the Argentinians drink it bitter.

funny.. I never look at the modera furniture.. it's like digital images to me - without soul...

but for you, I am punishing my self: I am going to drink a large whisky.

I can't do that !!! My wife will see us... Are there any portable, battery powered espresso machines ? Can I install one in my car (it's an Alfa Romeo, so the Italian coffee will be just what someone expects to find in it...) ?

Now there is something that got lost when car manufacturers concentrated on the infernal combustion engine instead of steam! Imagine a steam-powered car with espresso attachment
