Default any Mamiya 645 experts out there?

We need to know if the meter-prisms are different for the 'J' and 1000 bodies?
are they interchangeable? different? [the prisms]

I don't claim to be an expert but I own a "J" model and a friend owns a "J" and a 1000. The meter/prisms, film inserts and lenses do interchange.

No, all the prisms that fit the M645 models (J, 645, and 1000S) are useable on all models. The Super and Pro finders will not fit the earlier (above) models, and the 645E has a fixed finder.
