The old Distagon 50mm was a 63mm thread. My understanding is that you could use standard series VIII (series 8) filters, if you can't find the older Hassy filters. The older filters were held in place with either a lens shade or a filter retaining ring, one or the other and not both (big pain in the you know what!).

Anyway try a series 8 filter, see if it works. I've tried it, for the 1 or 2 Hassy filters that I could not find. One word of caution, since the lens threads are rather minimal, the filter will indeed fit on, but it may be a just a bit loose. Keep an eye on it.

Hope this helps

Yup, The old 50 used Series 8 filters. But the good thing is a Series 8 retaining ring just happens to be .................67mm!

Yep! I use 67 mm filters on mine and all the other lenses that I have via adapters--plus the majority of my LF lenses!
