    zeiss ikon nettar servicing

hello friends, as you will notice im new here.

    john , 30, portugal.

dj and producer of electronic music,

    also director and screenwriter.

i have a bachelors degree in cinema,

i love photography, had many photography classes with great professors.

hey gang. my grandfather gave me his zeiss ikon nettar ( guess the 518 )

and i took some photos with it. i enjoy it.

i tested it , because the lenses were dirty , only the front one,

    the one inside is clean.

how do i get to the front lens? i see some screws there but i kind of

tried opening it, did not have acess to pulling it out.

seems simple. one screw was to adjust the focus ,

and there are very very small ones that come first,

maybe those are the ones... so small i will try to open,

de oxing them as we speak, and i have mini screw drivers.

maybe i could clean it from inside, but the inside lens

prevents me... and its the ' fole ' inner lens i cant recall the english word for

it, i think i will be able to clean it , any help is welcome.

here is an example of photos i took with the dirty lens.

' in fact they are not bad, got a old aura on them , but

maybe a bit cleaner would be nice. '

ello i have now cleaned the lenses,

    the most outer ones.

i think it will do the job.

i did not remove the back lens ( inside the case ),

it seems removable, like four latches on the round thing around it,

i kind of tried drotating it, but it didnt budge easlily so i stopped.

i think that would be how to remove it anyway.

i did remove the front lens. cleaned in and outside, and it looks 80%

better, now when i fire the cam, with the back opened , there is

only some minimal dirt in the inner lens, so i guess it will do the job

and keepping a bit of the old aura. ok!

thanks guys keep it up and have fun!!!!

    yours, friendly ,

    john
