London Hasselblad repair shops?
Hello,
Does anyone have any recommendations for a repair/service shop in London for my Hasselblads? I have a back that needs new seals and needs the side indicator realigned. I found these guys http://www.jdcamtech.com/, anyone every used them?
Thanks.

Try this one http://www.sendeancameras.co.uk/ I used to send all the customers Hasselblad repairs there for the company I worked for, they are a good long established company who do excellent work at a reasonable price.

IME Sendean are extremely expensive. But then I am usually skint
I've used these guys before though for Mamiya & LF stuff rather than Hass: http://www.protechrepairs.co.uk/
They've always been pretty cheap (eg GBP60 for RB lens CLA) & reliable.

Or you could take it to the Pro Centre on Mallow Street (near Old St tube) and they will pass it on to Hasselblad UK.

So you think that £85 they quote to service a Hasselblad 500 series body is expensive, what planet do you live on ?, I sent literally hundreds of repairs to Sandean over a period of seven years I worked for a particular group of photographic retail shops, and didn't find their prices expensive in the least.

mickster, how much protechrepairs charge for a back service?
The £85 from seandean for a repair is a pretty standard service price compared to other places like Fixation and so on. Not "cheap" given the price of used equipment nowadays, but not expensive in the grand scheme of expensive Hasselblad things.

Sandean only quote £65 to service a back, I.M.O you can't equate the cost of skilled labour by technicians with the prices you can buy things for on ebay for otherwise you might as well throw it away and buy another one which might or might not need servicing, it's a calculated risk.
