Nikon 50mm f1.8 series E : single or multi-coated?

All my Nikkor lenses have a green tinted coating. However my Nikon series E 50mm lens has a rose-colored coating.
Is the series E only single coated or is it multicoated with a different technology?

Nikon 50mm f1.8 "series E" lens is single coated lens.

Also I did have Nikon 100mm f2.8 "series E" lens, and this was also single coated (to all the lens element surfaces).

However, not all the "series E" are single coated to all the lens element surfaces (e.g. series E zoom lenses, some of the lens surface had multi-coat).

This is because as you notice, "series E" lenses was affordable lenses, thus need to save cost.

Hmmm... Just dug it out and took a look at mine. It clearly has the purple Nikon NIC coating which is a multi-coat process.

I also took out my 50mm 1.8 AF which has the same colored coating. My other Nikkors (including a 50 1.2) have a greenish, purplish, and yellowish reflections.
