All in all the body is just not worth the time or money. I've had two meters fail in a K1000 body and left it as such. Why spend money to fix a rather mundane piece of equipment that is always left in the drawer while I take out and use my better bodies. It's not like these are some kind of superior photo equipment. There were so many made over such a long span of time that my attitude is if it can be fixed for nothing great, but if it requires a cla just donate it if you can instead of spending your hard earned cash which would probably be better spent elsewhere.
