Specialist for repairing Nikon F2 models

I came across this yesterday. The website is very comprehensive and well laid out. It deals with restoration and repair of Nikon F2 models (all) including the rebuilding of non operational metering heads.

    The web contact is:- www.soverf2repair.webs.com

The engineer is based in UK but going by his web pages he has clients from all over the globe.

As he can claims he can repair non-working metering heads for F2 models, I have sent him an E Mail asking if he can do the same for Nikon F Photomic heads.

I might be interested in that. I have two F heads, one working and one not.

Although I might have a look at it myself first.

There was a reply to the E mail which was positive and he can repair all Nikon F Photomic heads with exception to the 1st version.

Sover Wong has been around for quite a while. I've never used him but his reputation is very good. I can't remember ever hearing a complaint online. Other than the cost (for me) of shipping to UK and back, I wouldn't hesitate to use him.

The shipping cost to and from makes it more economical to buy another head here.

How long before a new head develops the same fault, if it doesn't have it already ?, if you need to keep old equipment usable and in good working order economy doesn't come into it.

On our side of the pond Stephen Gandy (www.cameraquest.com) says he can repair some F Photonics. I have never dealt with him so can not vouch for this.

This may be of help to you - Sover has the occassional DE-1 head for sale that will sit very nicely on an F.

No harm in asking him and yes he is a very good trader.
