    Lomo Sokol - any good?

    Hi there

I've seen a few Lomo Sokol rangefinders for sale recently on eBay. I've got a pretty good collection of old Soviet stuff - from old Zenits and Zorkis to a Kiev 60 and Iskra folders - but never managed to get my hands on one of these. Has anyone got one - or had one before?

I'm looking for a shooter rather than something to sit on the shelf....

Any tips of things/problems to look out for gratefully received.

    Thanks

    S

Never had Sokol camera, but I see it has Industar 50mm f2.8 lens - this is a good lens that I had used on other Soviet cameras. Good quality lens for sure.

I've shot with one of those a long time ago. The only thing I remember is that it didn't feel like a Russian camera. I guess that means it was reliable and pleasant to handle.
